Atlas Plug-in SDK for Macintosh Release Notes

The new SDK is functionally complete. See the docs for detailed for information on Java-JavaScript-Plugin wiring (LiveConnect), as well as the new Navigator methods NPN_GetURLNotify() and NPN_PostURLNotify().

Note that there is currently no Java Runtime Interface (JRI) compatible javah for the Macintosh, so interface files will have to be generated on another platform for the time being.

The SDK contains three sample plugins: ViewPict, which draws pict files; PPViewPict, which does just about the same thing as ViewPict, except that it is is three times as large and uses Metrowerks' PowerPlant framework; and PPViewText which displays text/plain files, and makes use of PowerPlant's view hierarchy for scrolling.

  • main() in npmac.cpp has been modified so that it no longer gives an error if the plugin is loaded by an earlier version of the Navigator.
  • The stub code which calls the new Navigator methods now checks Navigator's version number to make sure that the functions are actually implemented.
